Marrying a Foreigner In Nepal
The matrimonial bond can take place between 2 people of any nationality. Foreigners can marry a Nepali citizen and get their marriage legally registered in Nepal. However, you will need the following legal documents in order to marry in Nepalese national legally.
Once the documents have been verified by District Court of Nepal, the final step of your journey begins. Marriage Registration ends with the issuing of a Nepali Marriage Certificate. In summary, a foreigner wishing to register their marriage in Nepal needs to provide the following documents at the District Court of Nepal.
Documents Required:
No objection letter or Consent of Freedom to Marry from embassy (No objection letter as the evidence of your single status.)
Copy of your passport
Original Divorce or Death Certificate of their previous spouse (If you were previously married, you will need to produce your original divorce decree or the death certificate of your late spouse.)
Document issued by local authority of Nepal conforming resident of at least 15 days.
